Stephanie Opie
Stephanie is a self taught artist, her interest in painting having developed within the last three years. It is now her passion. She explains her somewhat unique style of painting only in black and white by saying "My great loves are painting, the beauty of the human form and black and white photography.

Whilst I love photography, I do not enjoy the process, it is too mechanical for me. So my art has provided me with a tool to express myself in a far more organic way by laying oil on canvas.

I enjoy solely working in black and white as it is challenging and it often removes the instant visual cues of race and sometimes even gender. Blurring these boundaries results in a universal vision of the body, unhampered by preconceived notions."
