Patricia Pastore

Patricia Pastore creates images that radiate with minimalist elegance. She portrays her subjects with visual clarity, using the eye of the camera to reveal things that are otherwise invisible to, or not noticed by the naked eye.

Whether shot in studio or on location Patricia´s images imply that there is, or could be, a different dimension, or alternative reality, that is reached via each spectator's unique response to the image. She guides the spectator to this new realm by removing images from their conventional frame of reference to reconfigure them into something beyond reality.

A look, a twinkle, a wink and it is there: intimacy welcomes us with open arms. But what if there is no such thing? Is intimacy purely triggered by eye contact? This body of work deprives the spectator of the chance to connect easily and thus take in the context. Can the spectator feel emotionally involved when not being directly addressed? And more importantly, can he or she see the undressed person as a naked subject rather than a nude?

Erotic meets Art

Erotic meets Art plays with color and repetition. By peeling away layer after layer - cloth, skin color, cultural background, tradition - then redressing the body in surrealist garb the body is seen as an object of natural art, accomplished in form and beauty.
Colors trigger specific expectations and emotions in our brain. Repeating a subject multiplies and separates the spectator´s emotions. This mixture creates a unique emotional state where bodies get transformed into something other than simple objects of arousal.

Dancing with Light

The intent of this project is to capture the uncensored emotional appearance of a person smothered in light. Shown in a natural state and embraced by the surrounding darkness, any restrictions such as clothing and behaviour are stripped away from the individual, who, absorbed in sound and movement, forgets all about the camera.

Skinart - Dimensions

Inspired by 3D images "skinart - Dimensions" explores how the human eye can be tricked into seeing a specific part of an image in 3D whilst seeing the remainder in 2D. At a surface level, the tattoos are the common 3D element, but a closer look reveals that they have more in common...

They got the look

How often do you really look into the eyes of your counterparts? And what reaction would you express if something was different about them? (NB could refer to 'emotionally' close or 'physically' close)

Landmarks

Combining familiar city scenes or landscapes with their atmosphere at a specific moment these images shall evoke a deep emotional impact - (started work on this one, but actually its a bit vague & sounds like you're trying to convince someone of something rather than stating your intent; I'd start afresh with this one if I were you)

Barbies

How innocent is our childhood playground?

Quinine Starships

Insects surround us. They are the largest population on earth. But how often do we closely inspect these flying, crawling, creeping creatures that are possessed of an extraterrestrial appearance? Capturing their strange beauty that outlives death, these images show them in natural and anthropomorphized situations that permit the spectator's imagination to play.
