Jake Garda MA
Jake is an accomplished sketch artist who specializes in depicting the undressed human form in it’s entirety, as well as head and shoulder portraits. His figures seldom fail to make a powerful statement due to their large scale* and expressive style, and make highly original gifts. Jake understands that live sittings are not always possible, so, typically, he undertakes commissions from photographs which can be supplied digitally or as prints. However, Jake is equally comfortable drawing from life as he is from referring to photographic images, and is quite flexible in his approach, depending on his client's individual needs.

The artist also maintains a limited stock of drawings for sale which take inspiration from the Internet as well as from life, and is willing to provide drawings that can be licensed for wholesale printing and commercial usage.At the time of writing, Jake isn’t concerned with intellectualising too much about his work, but, stylistically, feels it is important to represent his preferred medium of charcoal** to the fullest by keeping his work 'sketchy' (for want of a better word). The artist does not attempt to imitate the explicitness of photography by resolving his works completely, in a photorealistic manner, which, in his eyes, would seem to betray the medium somewhat.
